It's designed to amplify ALL of our cognitive biases. As such, the fact that it propelled Trump to a win should surprise nobody, because that's what it was designed to do. Facebook is designed to give *Facebook* power, so they can sell that power to the highest bidder. It happened that the highest bidder turned out to be someone they didn't agree with philosophically, but THAT isn't the problem. The problem is that that power shouldn't exist to begin with.

Oops! After the upgrade to 2.4.1 a week ago I forgot to start the mastodon-sidekiq service. This has resulted in a HUGE backlog. It is the reason you didn't see replies, the Federated timeline was pretty empty etc. In the next minutes/hours this will all be processed… Sorry for the inconvenience!

You can sign in with Twitter and Mastodon to find Twitter friends in the fediverse. You can also send it to your Twitter friends, as it will show them their friends on Mastodon and point them to where they could make an account!

Pfff dat was een pittige bevalling, upgraden van Mastodon naar 2.4.0.... De vorige upgrade was 5 min werk maar dit was uren en uren klooien... Anyway. Done!

Our Mastodon instance was just upgraded to it's latest stable version. However, we are still having some issues. Uploading / viewing of photos might not work at this moment. Working on it.
